Your transportation from the lodging in Nuweiba or Taba will be organized in a clandestine, climate-controlled vehicle at approximately 10:30 pm for the expedition to St. Catherine. The drive from Taba typically takes about two and a half hours. Beginning around 2:00 am, you will initiate your ascent of Moses Mountain, expecting to descend by 8:00 am, making for a total of six hours. The itinerary encompasses admission to St. Catherine’s Monastery, a site steeped in rich historical significance. Following this, a guided tour of St. Catherine Monastery, recognized as an Orthodox establishment and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will ensue. Established in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian, the monastery was encompassed by a wall during the same period, but was later consecrated to Saint Catherine in the 11th century as a tribute to the early Christian martyr from Alexandria.
