This journey combines the wonders of Petra and Mouses Springs with a midday meal.
Petra, a renowned world wonder, is indisputably Jordan’s most prized treasure and top tourist attraction. It is a vast and distinctive metropolis, hewn into the sheer rock face by the Nabataeans, a hardworking Arab population who settled here over 2000 years ago. They transformed it into a critical junction for the silk, spice, and other trade routes connecting China, India, and southern Arabia to Egypt, Syria, Greece, and Rome.
Considered the most illustrious and stunning destination in Jordan, Petra is situated about 262 kilometers south of Amman and 133 kilometers north of Aqaba. It stands as the lasting legacy of the Nabataeans, an enterprising Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2000 years ago. Revered for its sophisticated culture, grand architecture, and ingenious network of dams and waterways, Petra has been named a UNESCO world heritage site and is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, captivating visitors from all corners of the globe.
Mouses Spring is a sacred and historical site adorned with springs, located in the province of Madaba in central Jordan, a mere 10 kilometers from Madaba and in close proximity to Mount Nebo. Its name is derived from ancient tales of Moses striking a rock with his staff, resulting in a flow of water for his people.
